Prior to the main teaching sermon, Pastor Brent Lokker shares on the topic of listening prayer and guides us through a simple exercise to illustrate how we can adopt the practice for ourselves. Afterwards, he shares of story of how Philip was obedient to the Holy Spirit's promptings and (therefore) ready to share the gospel with the Ethiopian official (Acts 8:26-40).  We are encouraged to cultivate a sensitivity to God's voice and the readiness to obey that made Philip so effective in his ministry.

"The Holy Spirit is not like a store!" Joel Pollard shares a powerful message on the importance of embracing intimacy with the Holy Spirit based on the cautionary tale of Simon the Sorcerer in Acts 8:9-24. 

Blazing Fire's equipping night consisted of a short teaching and practical application exercise in three areas of ministry: prophetic encouragement, praying for the sick and sharing your story. Each of these topics was briefly introduced by a different speaker before giving members of the congregation an opportunity to minister to each other in small groups.

Pastor Brent Lokker brings us a message from Acts 8:1-8, showing how the persecution and scattering following the stoning of Stephen lead the the Gospel being preached more widely, and the Kingdom of God expanding even more vigorously, than before. We are the living legacy of that scattering and have the same dunamis power to be world changers!

Pastor Russ Fochler shares the second part of his message on the stoning of Stephen from  Acts 6:5–7:60. This time, Pastor Russ expands on what it means to be tender-hearted and alive to the Holy Spirit's promptings such that we put away all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor, forgiving one another as we have been forgiven. Pastor Russ Fochler brings us a profound example of loving kindness and Holy Sprit-guided deportment under the stress of slander, and mob-violence from Acts 6:5–7:60. While this drama may seem far removed from our relatively safe lives, it remains a critical aspect of discipleship that we allow God to soften our hearts and form in us the habit of forgiveness and love towards those who oppose us.  See the slides for this talk here.
